Mintrocket announced through X (formerly Twitter) that April 16 is the Dave the Diver PS5 release date. It’s also coming to PS4 as well as PS Plus on the same day.

Dave the Diver swims onto PlayStation
Dave the Diver will be available on PS Plus, the game subscription service for PlayStation users (think Xbox Game Pass, but blue and yellow). Subscribers will need to pay for either the Premium or Extra tier to play it, otherwise they can purchase it for both PS5 and PS4 when it’s available on April 16.
In case you’ve been living under a rock for this long, Dave the Diver is an aquatic action/restaurant management sim hybrid game. Stepping into the shoes (or rather flippers) of the titular Dave, your job is to swim into and explore the enigmatic Blue Hole, a location that is rumored to house every species of fish the world has ever seen.
Along the way, you’ll get to participate in a plethora of side activities, such as competing in cooking contests (turtle soup, anyone?), racing seahorses, taking photos of the various fishy friends (and enemies) you come across, and getting funky in an anime rhythm game. And that’s not even the weirdest thing in the game.
The crossover DLCs
What’s weird is the new species of fish you’ll encounter in the free crossover DLC with fellow fishing game Dredge (funny how 2023 had two great indie fishing games, huh?). Dave will be able to interact with characters from Black Salt Games’ horror/fishing hybrid game, as well as encounter and capture the aquatic abominations seen in Dredge when a red fog appears. These new fishy fiends can be cooked and served to mysterious hooded strangers who wish to dine on these disgusting delicacies.
But wait, there’s more! Mintrocket also announced earlier this year that the legendary King of all Monsters, Godzilla, is wading his way into Dave the Diver. It’s another free DLC pack, but Mintrocket has kept details of it under wraps as of writing. A trailer for the crossover sees Dave narrowly dodging attacks from what seems to be a large lobster and encountering Godzilla, but not much else is known. This DLC is scheduled to be released in May later this year.
