Timer for “Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Kid” 1st 3 Minutes Streamed

Aniplex broadcasted the initial three minutes of “Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Kid,” the second installment in the sequel anime project for the “Seishun Buta Yarō” (Rascal Does Not Dream) light novel series on Sunday. The film unveiled a fresh trailer and character visuals. The teaser hints at the resolution of the narrative’s High School arc. Sōichi Masui is set to helm the film at CloverWorks, with Masahiro Yokotani overseeing the script once again. Satomi Tamura, responsible for character design and serving as the chief animation director, is also making a return.

The film will open in Japan on December 1.

Rascal Does Not Dream of Knapsack Kid

“Rascal Does Not Dream of a Sister Venturing Out” premiered in Japan on June 23, selling 118,108 tickets and earning 175,648,924 yen (approximately US$1.28 million) within its first three days, securing the #4 spot in its opening weekend.

The TV anime “Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai,” originating from the light novel series, debuted in Japan in October 2018, spanning 13 episodes and adapting the narrative up to the fifth novel volume. Aniplex of America streamed the series on platforms like Crunchyroll and Funimation.

The anime film “Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dreaming Girl,” which adapts the sixth and seventh volumes of the light novel series, premiered in Japan in June 2019. Aniplex of America and Funimation Films brought the movie to audiences in the United States.

Kadokawa released the initial novel in Hajime Kamoshida’s series, titled “Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai,” in April 2014. The English version of the novel series is being published by Yen Press.
