Nonetheless, Norme aimed to surpass the previous record set by Randy Gardner, who stayed awake for about 11 days. However, on August 11, YouTube Bans Streamer Norme, and he shared this news on social media.

On August 11, Norme shared a photo of himself in front of his computer, displaying the YouTube message that banned his “World Record” attempt. He captioned the post, explaining that YouTube bans Streamer Norme just 12 hours before he was about to reach his goal. It appears YouTube sided with the Guinness World Records and removed the stream due to the dangers involved. In the photo, you can see the official statement from YouTube, confirming why YouTube Bans Streamer Norme for attempting the “World Record.”
“It appears that ‘Awake for 12 Days: World Record Live 24/7‘ violated our community guidelines. To ensure the safety of our community, we have removed it from YouTube.”
Shortly after, the official statement cites the guidelines regarding harmful and dangerous content as the reason for the removal:
