Creed 4 is happening

Creed 4’s confirmation has been accompanied by the announcement that Michael B. Jordan, the actor behind Adonis Creed, will be reprising his role as the director for the upcoming film. Producer Irwin Winkler shared this information during the Deadline Contenders event, responding with a confirming smile when questioned about Jordan’s directorial return after his debut in Creed 3.

Winkler disclosed, “I’m not supposed to say… but he will be.” Despite facing a slight delay due to a strike, Winkler expressed confidence in the project, stating, “We’re planning to do Creed 4, it’s in the works. We think we have a really good story. A really good plot. And we’re hoping to… well, we got a little delay because of the strike like everybody else did… but probably a year from now we’ll go into pre-production.”

While specific details about the film remain unknown, Jordan confirmed earlier in February 2023 to IGN that Creed 4 is “for sure” in development, with potential spinoffs also in consideration. In discussing the expansion of the Creed universe, Jordan stated, “I just want to expand the Creed-verse within reason, but definitely expect other things around Creed for sure.” The review of Creed 3 emphasized the excitement of seeing Adonis Creed carve out his own legacy apart from the Rocky Balboa storyline, even if the movie adhered to the familiar format of a Rocky film.
