Eternal Friends actor Jun Shison picked up as poster face for the upcoming Tokyo gubernatorial election to be held on July 7, 2024.

Message from Jun Shison

I think there are a lot of people who think it doesn’t concern them.

But that’s not the case, really, and it’s very important to know.

I think ignorance is the scariest thing of all.

Just learning about the policies that the candidates running this time are considering may make you empathize with them and make you think, “Ah, I see!”

So I think it would be good to have more opportunities like that.

As a poster character, what I want to convey is that people should forget for a moment about things like “elections are serious, I wonder if it’s really okay for me to go, I’m nervous, what should I do,” and just relax and go vote.

I don’t like the idea that I’m just a poster boy.

Since this is a special occasion, I would like to say to those who support me, “Go vote!”

I’m sure there are many things in your daily life that make you dissatisfied or anxious, but I hope that you will direct those feelings towards voting.

Who is Jun Shison?

Jun is a Japanese actor and part of male acting troupe D-Boys and D2 affiliated with Watanabe Entertainment. His well known works include films like Eternal Friends (2014), Ressha Sentai ToQger (2014) and Ressha Sentai ToQger vs. Kyoryuger: The Movie (2015).

Tokyo Gubernatorial Election

Tokyo Governor election is coming up this July where Yuriko Koike (小池 百合子) will face opposition lawmaker Renho as she declared her nomination to run for Tokyo’s gubernatorial election on July 7. Following this, Jun Shison is appointed as poster face for the upcoming election.

National and local elections are administered and supervised by Election administration commission at each administrative level under the guidelines of Central Election Management Council.
