George Washington was the founder of American Revolution, Military officer and Politician as the first President of United States of America (USA) from 1789-1797. He was appointed as the military commander of Continental Army by the Second Continental Congress. George Washington was predominantly a British, though after American war of Independence, He was chosen as the first President of USA and thereby an American till his death in 1799.

7 Year Global War (1754-1763)

7 Year Global War between Britain with Prussia and Portugal etc. against France with Spain, Russia and Austria etc. was fought across places including North America, Europe, Senegal and India. British colonial forces made up of British settlers was headed by Lieutenant Colonel George Washington. More specifically he was colonel and commander of Virginia regiment of the colonial army protecting the region from the attacks by French and raids by Red Indians or American Indians.

The war was fought to acquire west of the Appalachian mountains by the British authority and the settlers. But the French, Spanish and Red Indians were opposed to this expansion as Red Indians were feared of confiscation of their land by the British settlers while French and Spanish stake was to protect their sugar colonies in Central America therefore they were using Louisiana as the buffer between sugar colonies of Central America and 13 British colonies on the east.

After 7 year of war, British settlers led by steel stealth leadership including George Washington won. Where all the stakeholders get something in return from the devastating war, France being the bitter enemy of Britain bear the brunt of loss and loss in the war. France lose Louisiana, Senegal, Influence in India thereby compelled to accept British Protectorate in India.

War, though, won by the British but this war gave the base for the American Revolution. Why?, There was a nexus between the Britain State and British settlers of 13 colonies that Britain state use settlers to exploit Red Indians and the continent while settlers in return get British military protection. This nexus was broken after the Proclamation of 1763 by the British Parliament.

American Revolution (1765-1783)

Proclamation of 1763 by the British Parliament mandated for the settlers not to cross Appalachian mountains and gave Indian Reserve to the Red Indians which then made settlers anxious about their dream of marching towards west and become big landlords. However, trigger was pulled by the Stamps Act of 1765 which imposed tax on paper transaction which consisted prominent resource of that time. All the business transaction used to be on paper.

From here starts the revolutionary No Taxation Without Representation movement which then resulted in abolition of Stamps Act in 1766 and other taxes except tax on tea which represented Britain Crown’s symbolic position over North America.

Boston Tea Party (1773)

Britain State retained the tax on tea which led to an incident in Boston, Massachusetts. British ship loaded with tea were stationed at Massachusetts’s Boston port while the tea cargo was not allowed to offload at the port. In such an event, settlers destroyed tea cargo. As a result of this, British Parliament took away self government of Massachusetts via Coercive Acts 1774.

9 of 13 colonies leaders met at Philadelphia Congress and passed a resolution demanding restoration of self government to Massachusetts, Reiterated Idea of No Taxation Without Representation, Demanded end of British Mercantilism etc. This petition was treated as rebellion against the British State therefore it declared war on 13 colonies in 1775.

American War of Independence (1775-1783)

American War of Independence, ironically fought by British against British. Party to war were British settlers supported by French and Spain against British State supported by loyalists of 13 colonies and Red Indians or American Indians. This war resulted in decolonization for the 13 Colonies but colonialism for the American Indians – the original people of the land.

It was the opening phase of the American Revolutionary was where Military commander George Washington marched towards Boston where British Army led by Sir Thomas Gage were retreated to the safety of Boston. Soon the victorious patriot army besieged the British Army. General George Washington forced out British Army from the Boston.

American war of independence ended with the signing of Second Treaty of Paris 1783 whereby 13 colonies were now expanded by taking over the lands of American Indians and USA purchased Louisiana from France in 1803 and Florida from Spain in 1819.

New Constitution and Role of George Washington (1789)

George Washington played a crucial role in the development and enaction of US constitution at the Constitutional Convention of 1787. He provided leadership to the constitutional convention as he presided over the meetings held in Philadelphia. His impartiality and statesmanship made him perfect Presidential candidate for the newly independent USA.

Washington also advocated for the strong central government to carry and address the weaknesses of the articles of confederation. After the draft constitution was prepared George Washington played crucial role in putting it to public scrutiny and ratification. Through his support many skeptics like Thomas Jefferson and James Madison accepted the newly made constitution.

His decisions regarding executive power, foreign policy, and relations with Congress established important norms that continue to influence the functioning of the federal government.
