Dua Lipa host on Saturday Night Live
Following her new album drop “Radical Optimism” on Friday, Dua Lipa assumed the duty of host on Saturday Night Live over the weekend and made her hosting debut. She was feeling love from the two special guests in the crowd, her parents.
The 28-year old singer came out and greeted with a warm and heartfelt welcome by the Studio 8H audience. This sweet crowd included her parents, Anesa and Dukagjin.
Dua Lipa shared, “It’s great to be back in 30 Rock. I actually made my US TV debut eight years ago, downstairs on The Tonight Show. So this building does feel a lot like home, And especially tonight, because my parents are here in the audience.”
After this, Camera cut to her parents who looked somewhat shy when suddenly found in the spotlight.
Lipa further said, “As you can see, they’re kind of cool. They love to party, One night, I was out with my friends and we ended up at the club at 3 in the morning. And who do I bump into but my parents!”

She continued, “Which was embarrassing, Because the last thing you want to see when you’re super high and drunk off your ass is your daughter.”
This joke made both her parents burst in laughter and she shared how they supported her at every point of her life and appreciated their life-long support. The “Dance the Night” singer shared, “But really, they’ve always been so supportive, They let me move from Kosovo to London when I was just 15 to start my career, and now my third album just dropped.”
Radical Optimism
Lipa dropped her new album, “Radical Optimism” on Friday. This came one day before her hosting thing on the SNL. The singer first debuted her new single as part of her musical guest performance and then assumed the responsibility of the host.

Last week, NBC announced the line-up for the last two shows of the season, where Maya Rudolph will return as host for the third time while Vampire Weekend as the musical guest on May 11. Along with this, Jake Gyllenhall will host the final show of the season and Sabrina Carpenter will join him as the musical guest on May 18.
