The Full Power of a Dangerous Cursed Technique: (It’s Not Yuji), but Jujutsu Kaisen Shows Us What’s Possible

Yuji

In each new chapter of Jujutsu Kaisen, Gege Akutami continues to surprise us. Just when we think things can’t get any crazier, Akutami introduces a new twist. Chapter 255 was no exception, delivering another whirlwind of emotions as Ryomen Sukuna clashed with unexpected newcomers, Miguel and Larue.

Their sudden appearance was a welcome surprise, especially considering the dwindling number of fighters left. Although they managed to hold off the Demon King long enough for Yuji Itadori and Maki Zenin to rejoin the battle, they ultimately fell to his overwhelming power. However, amidst the chaos, a potentially game-changing technique was unveiled.

Jujutsu Kaisen Shows Another Powerful Cursed Technique (And It’s Not Yuji’s)

Yuji

Jujutsu Kaisen isn’t shy about showcasing extraordinary abilities. Take, for example, Gojo Satoru’s Limitless and Infinity, Yuta Okkotsu’s Copy, and Kinji Hakari’s “Unkillable Mode” — all impressive in their own right. With all these powerful techniques in play, you’d expect Yuji, the protagonist, to have one of his own eventually.

However, in the latest chapter, another remarkable technique takes center stage, potentially shifting the balance of power. When Miguel and Larue arrive, they reveal Larue’s unique Cursed Technique called “Heart Catch.”

This ability summons a virtual hand that can grasp targets from a distance, allowing Larue to manipulate them as he pleases. Moreover, this hand can regenerate endlessly if destroyed, albeit at a cost to Larue’s own well-being.

Yuji

But there’s more to it. Spoilers for the next chapter suggest an additional ability: once the hand makes contact with someone, it can seize their consciousness. This means it can distract opponents, leaving them vulnerable to attacks.

In Chapter 255, we saw Larue use this technique to restrain Sukuna, gaining access to his consciousness. And according to the spoilers, this distraction allowed Yuji to land a significant blow on Sukuna.

Final Thoughts

Larue’s “Heart Catch” is undeniably a potent skill. Though it might not match up to the grandeur of Limitless or Copy, it does hold its own because of its unique ability to influence the target’s mind. For now, we can only make educated guesses based on the spoilers available. The upcoming chapters, due in a few days, will likely unveil more details. But it’s worth noting: yet another character has showcased a formidable technique, hinting that Yuji might soon acquire one of his own.
