The patch, new game files and bug fixes
The official Dragon’s Dogma account on X (formerly Twitter) wrote a post saying that patches will be released for Dragon’s Dogma 2 in the near future to improve/tweak certain aspects of the game, with the biggest change allowing players to begin a new save file even if they already have another save file. This specific change was included due to outrage among players who wished to begin a new game, but could not do so in the usual manner.
Alongside this change, updates will increase the number of “Art of Metamorphosis” items available at pawn guilds to 99, making the quest that allows players to purchase their own home available earlier, as well as various bug and text display fixes.

Consoles players will be able to toggle ray-tracing and motion blur, as well lock the frames-per-second to 30 FPS. PC players will receive a big fix where models appeared to be low quality while specific settings where active and the quality of the DLSS Super Resolution will be improved as well.
What is Dragon’s Dogma 2?
Dragon’s Dogma 2 is the sequel to Dragon’s Dogma, an RPG that was released back in 2012. Players will become an Arisen, an individual tasked with slaying a powerful dragon and deciding the fate of the world. The series introduced the Pawn system, where players can create their own custom companion called Pawns and summon Pawns made by other players through an online network called the Rift.
The game courted controversy when players were enraged about microtransactions being added to the full price game, as well as being unable to start a new game if they already had a save file. The microtransactions include items that can be found in the game, such as rift crystals (currency used to hire Pawns and purchase special items), ambivalent rift incense (which can change the behavior of one’s Pawn), and Tomes of Metamorphosis (a single-use time that lets players change their character’s or Pawn’s appearance).
The inclusion of microtransactions resulted in the game’s Steam review rating changing to “Mixed” and developer Capcom apologized to fans in a Steam post for any inconveniences they are facing. Capcom also said they are investigating and fixing problems like freezing and crashes and will be addressing the highest priority issues through upcoming patches.
