GTA 6 Troy Baker isn’t involved as the game’s protagonist, addresses rumors in new interview

Troy Baker isn’t voicing GTA 6 protagonist Jason and he confirmed this in a new interview.

Renowned voice actor Troy Baker will not be voicing GTA 6 protagonist Jason. Baker confirmed this during an interview with YouTuber The Movie Dweeb, who asked Baker about rumors regarding him voicing Jason.

“He says one word! He says ‘trust’.”, Baker responded. He said that this is “a lesson in perception”, that people thought he was voicing Jason and immediately assumed that this was the case. Baker continued, saying that Jason’s voice actor deserved credit for his performance, and that jobs like this one were difficult. Baker also said that other voice actors such as Roger Craig Smith and Ned Luke poured themselves into their characters and deserved credit for their performances. Baker did feel this was a compliment, as people believed that Jason’s performance was good and associated it with him.

Troy Baker is a prolific voice actor who’s probably voiced a major or minor character in one of your favorite games or anime. From Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor and Spider-Man: Miles Morales to Uncharted 4 and Batman: Assault on Arkham, he’s played dozens of roles without you even knowing unless you looked up his Wikipedia or IMDB page. Baker is lending his voice to Indiana Jones and the Great Circle as the leading man himself, Death Stranding 2: On the Beach as Higgs Monaghan, and Justice League: Crisis on Infinite Earths – Part Two as the Joker.

What is GTA 6?

The long-awaited sequel to Grand Theft Auto V, the upcoming Grand Theft Auto VI is the newest entry in the often controversial, but ultra-successful cash cow franchise that Rockstar Games will never stop milking. It’s also the latest excuse for parents and other adults to get into a tizzy about video games corrupting the youth and turning them into violent delinquents (to any adults reading this, that is false).

The game will take place in the fictional Vice City and players will be in control of two protagonists, Lucia and Jason, as they go on Bonnie and Clyde-style capers. An announcement trailer was uploaded to YouTube back in December 2023, and currently has 184 million views, 75 million more than the Grand Theft Auto V currently has today.
