The Hatsune Miku Crypt of the NecroDancer crossover
Developer Brace Yourself Games has dropped Hatsune Miku as a paid DLC character into Crypt of the NecroDancer.
The new DLC comes with the singer, her weapon of choice (a leek), and her ability to charm enemies by singing. She also cannot use a shovel; instead, she’ll need to dig by dashing through enemies into walls. The DLC also reskins all armors into official Miku outfits.
Also included are 15 brand new Miku songs, two of which were composed by Danny Baranowsky, a composer who has worked on Crypt of the Necrodancer as well as other games like Super Meat Boy and The Binding of Isaac.

Who is Hatsune Miku?
Hatsune Miku began her life as a voice synthesizing software (called a Vocaloid). Since her inception, she’s been added to hundreds of thousands of songs and amassed a legion of followers.
Miku’s become a bonafide cyber-celebrity and has performed in concerts worldwide. She’s also collaborated with the likes of SEGA and Toyota USA. She even has her own X (formerly Twitter) account.
What is Crypt of the NecroDancer?
A roguelike dungeon crawler where all your actions correspond to the beat of the music (moving, attacking, etc.). Players will need to descend into a dungeon to defeat its ruler, the NecroDancer, and take back their heart (which is somehow still beating). To accomplish this task, they’ll need to eliminate the enemies in their path, from the average zombie to mighty dragons to the physical embodiments of certain music genres, such as death metal.
It’s gotten rave reviews from critics and has received some DLC over the years. There’s also been a separate crossover game with the Legend of Zelda series and a spin-off called Rift of the NecroDancer is scheduled for release sometime this year.
