EA Iron Man game confirmed to be open-world in new job listing, just like Black Panther

Besides the fact that the Tony Stark’s upcoming adventure will be open-world, not much was revealed in this job listing.

This is getting out of hand. Now there are two of them!

In a new job listing posted by Motive Studio, the developer behind the upcoming Iron Man game, it’s confirmed that the game will be open-world. Motive Studio put out a job listing looking for a senior technical artist and the description states that applicants will need to “help oversee the rendering related aspects of an open-world action-adventure AAA title.” 

One of the qualifications requirements is applicants having experience working on PC and current console platforms (PS4/Xbox One). Given that the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S have been out for three years at this point, it’s far more likely those two (along with PC) are the platforms that Iron Man will be coming to (note: there hasn’t been any confirmations or announcements regarding which platforms this game will come to). Besides that, there isn’t much information related to Tony Stark’s game.

What is the EA Iron Man game?

The Motive Studio Iron Man game was announced back in 2022 and was said to be in early development. The announcement said you’ll get to feel every bit as complex, intelligent, and charismatic as the real Tony Stark is as you play through an original story that utilizes the character’s 60 years of history in a single-player, third-person, action/adventure game. Motive Studio said that they’ll be using Unreal Engine 5 to create their genius billionaire playboy philanthropist game and Olivier Proulx, a producer on Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy game, is leading development.

This isn’t the only Marvel game that EA is putting out. Cliffhanger Games is also working on Black Panther, the other EA Marvel project which is also a single-player, third-person, action/adventure game. Funnily enough, the game was also confirmed to be an open-world affair by way of a job listing (insert Doofenshmirtz nickel meme here). These games are being developed because of a deal Marvel and EA have struck, which states that at least three games will be made. The public already knows the first two, but as of writing, it isn’t known what the final EA Marvel game will be.
