If you prefer physical games, I’ve got good news: you’ll be able to get your hands on physical releases of Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered and the Lara Croft Collection thanks to Limited Run Games.

The Lara Croft Collection physical release
The official Tomb Raider X (formerly Twitter) account posted that the Lara Croft Collection will be getting a physical release. They also confirmed that Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered will also be getting the same treatment, both courtesy of Limited Run Games, in a comment to the original post.
The Lara Croft Collection’s physical release will be for the Nintendo Switch, with the games and other goodies coming in an “iconic trapezoid box,” as shown on the Tomb Raider website. Along with the game, buyers will receive a steelbook, the game’s soundtrack on a CD, an acrylic standee featuring the game’s cover art, and art prints of Lara and co. in action. Pre-orders will go live on May 10 until June 9.
As for the Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered physical release, not much was said. The comment encouraged fans to keep an eye on the Tomb Raider social media accounts when May 21 rolls around as more information will be shared by then.
Who are Limited Run Games?
You know how some games are digital-only and don’t have physical releases (i.e. CDs with boxes you can keep them in)? That’s where Limited Run Games comes in.
As alluded to by their name, they create physical versions of the games you like so that you can keep them forever (hey, some digital games get delisted for whatever reason, so this makes sense), but once all physical copies are sold, that’s it. They won’t be creating new physical versions of those games ever again.
They also throw in some extra goodies like action figures, a sticker sheet, and a soundtrack for the collector’s edition version of a game if they’re making it. Their other products include skate decks (yes, you can shred it like Tony Hawk), collectible coins, trading cards, vinyl soundtracks, clothing, and pins, all themed around video games, of course.
What is Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered and the Lara Croft Collection?
Exactly what it says on the tin: remastered versions of Lara Croft’s first three adventures for modern consoles and PC, developed and published by Aspyr. All three games come with their respective expansion pack and modern features like photo mode, earnable achievements/trophies, and being able to switch between the old-school and modern graphics and controls are included with the package. These are the third-person adventures that made Lara famous in the first place, which involve her putting holes into enemies as she scours for various artifacts across the three games.
The Lara Croft Collection bundles The Guardian of Light and The Temple of Osiris games into one pack. Both are arcade games where you get to play as Lara as well as other characters like a Mayan warrior or Egyptian Gods (it’s not every day you get to do that). The Guardian of Light was originally dropped back in 2010, while The Temple of Osiris was released in 2014. These games never came to Nintendo consoles until the Lara Croft Collection was released back in 2023.
