The multiplayer modes for Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 have been revealed to the public alongside other features like different classes and Marine customization.

The Warhammer 40K Space Marine 2 multiplayer modes
During this year’s Warhammer Skulls (a showcase focused on Warhammer 40K games and nothing else), a trailer centered around Space Marine 2’s multiplayer modes.
Regarding the PvP mode, it will feature teams of six players fighting against another team of the same number. One of these factions represents the forces of Chaos (Chaos Marines), while the other is devoted to the Emperor of Mankind (Space Marines). The trailer’s description says there will be three game modes: Capture & Control, Annihilation, and Seize Ground. The latter two are modes from the first Space Marine game, with Annihilation (in the first game) being the team deathmatch mode, while Seize Ground (also the first game version) involves two teams fighting over battlefield objectives for points and whichever team reaches 1,000 points first wins.
As for PvE, in addition to the previously announced three-player co-op story campaign, there’s also going to be Operations Mode, where a trio of players work together to accomplish missions. In both PvP and PvE, each player will be able to choose among six different classes to bring different benefits to the battlefield, like Sniper-class players with their stealth camo or the Bulwark-class players with their shield.
Customization is another factor in multiplayer (hey, you’ve got to stand out and look good when it comes to killing other people). Various gauntlets, helmets, pauldrons, heraldry decals, and more will be available to help players slay (both in the fashion sense and the bloody sense) and the game’s season pass will contain more cosmetics. Free regular updates will toss new weapons, enemies, and missions into the game.
Digital pre-order editions
- The digital storefront versions of Space Marine 2 are now ready for you to pre-order.
- First up is the Standard edition, which comes with the base game and nothing more.
- Then there’s the Gold edition, which contains the season pass and lets you play four days before the official release date (September 9 this year).
- Finally, there’s the Ultra edition, which comes with the Ultramarines Champion pack along with the Gold edition bonuses.
- Pre-ordering any edition will give the Macragge’s Chosen DLC, which gives you access to Ultramarine-inspired skins for the bolt rifle, chainsword, and the Crux Terminatus Pauldron.
Earlier this month, an artbook for Space Marine 2 was leaked that showed the playable classes in the game, as well as the PvP game mode, and the enemies, and that Space Marine customization would be available. This artbook was shown in a YouTube video, but it got taken down because of a copyright claim by Focus Entertainment, Space Marine 2’s publisher.
Space Marine 2 will shoot and slice through Tyranids and Chaos Marine on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
