These days, Call of Duty always seems to be introducing new skins that originate from other franchises in their games. Looks like it’s time for Gundam to be tossed in, because why the hell not?

The Bandai Namco US X (formerly Twitter) account posted a short video where the shadow of a Gundam can be seen on the side of a building located on the new Tokyo map for the games. The post says that the new Gundam content will be dropping into Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone 2.0 with the arrival of Season 4 and that the shadows will rise up. What this means is currently unknown.

Neither account gave any more information regarding the upcoming crossover. However, it’s likely that new skins, weapon blueprints, emblems, stickers, loading screens, decals, finishing moves, and bundles themed around Gundam mechs could be on the horizon.

Earlier in May, dataminers for Warzone 2.0 and Modern Warfare 3 discovered references to Gundam, along with Fallout and The Crow, and that they would be coming to the game when Season 4 began. Given that the Gundam crossover is happening, it wouldn’t be a big shock if the Fallout and Crow crossovers (which will also probably be bundles) were announced sometime in the future.

Amazon Prime’s Fallout show was confirmed to be getting a second season, so maybe the crossover will be announced when a big announcement is made or a trailer gets dropped for either the show or something related to one of the games.

Content like this has been put into the game every time a bundle was announced in the past. So far, Tomb Raider, Godzilla, King Kong, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Diablo, and Warhammer (among others) have all had bundles themed around them that were purchased by players. These bundles usually cost 2,400 COD Points (equivalent to $20). Even real-life celebs aren’t an exception from being included. The likes of Snoop Dogg, Messi, Neymar Jr., Pogba, 21 Savage and Nicki Minaj are all playable operators within Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone 2.0.

Given just how many character bundles are being added to the game, some have said that Call of Duty is turning into Fortnite since that game also has an innumerable number of characters originating from a high number of franchises. Some players enjoy getting to buy new bundles featuring franchises they love, while others wish Call of Duty would ditch this and go back to how it used to be before it started emulating Epic Games’ great cash cow.
