Sly Cooper and the other PS2 games coming to PlayStation Plus
As part of their yearly Days of Play event, a PlayStation blog post details what new games are being added to the PlayStation Plus premium tier. This time, it’s a trio of PS2 games: Sly Cooper and the Thievius Raccoonus, Tomb Raider Legend, and Star Wars The Clone Wars. All three games are being added to the PlayStation Plus Classics Catalog, which is reserved only for old games like the aforementioned trio. All three will be playable from June 11 onwards.
Earlier this month, Gematsu spotted a PSDeals page for The Clone Wars PS2 game. This page mentioned features like rewinding gameplay, custom video filters, up-rendering, and quicksaves and believed that this Star Wars game would be one of the newest additions to the Classics Catalog come June 11. Since Gematsu was correct on this, it wouldn’t be a big shock to see that Sly Cooper and Tomb Raider Legend also have these custom features built into them, features that are also present in PS1 Classics Catalog games.
New PlayStation Plus games
As for the other games that will be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers on June 4, the monthly games for June will include SpongeBob Squarepants: The Cosmic Shake, Streets of Rage 4, and AEW Fight Forever. Gamers with access to a PS VR2 and are subscribed to the premium tier will have access to Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord, Synth Riders, Before Your Eyes, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners (Chapters 1 and 2), and Walkabout Mini Golf on June 6.
More additions to the Game Catalog for premium and extra tier members include Dredge (available now), Lego Marvel Superheroes 2 (available May 31), Cricket 24 (on June 5), Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition (on June 7). A new game trial for premium members is WWE 2K24, which can be played right now.
There’s also going to be an EA Sports FC 24 Esports tournament for PS Plus members and various offers and deals on subscriptions to Netflix, Sony Pictures Core, PS Plus, PlayStation products, and merchandise. Three new PlayStation Stars challenges will also be available and will require players to reach community goals to unlock new rewards, with PS Plus members unlocking an additional reward exclusive to them.
